Subway Blues was one of those moments late at night on the New York subway. From the corner of my eye I notice a man, dressed in a striking turquoise suit with a glowing yellow hat, about to walk past me on the platform. That’s where my instinct takes over. I loved the blur of his form and the stark colours of his suit and hat against the subway backdrop giving the impression of someone caught between moments, emphasising the fleeting, transitory nature of city life.”
