In 2019, while filming in Lesotho for FIFA, I stumbled upon a sacred female initiation ceremony in the mountains, vibrant, rhythmic, and deeply moving. I returned with portraits, layered images, and stories of everyday life that stayed with me. From Jona and her wheelbarrow to a silver-hatted herder who’s portrait went on to win the BJP Portrait of Humanity award.
