TUK TUKS in Motion
Walking the streets of Colombo, I became fascinated by the tuk-tuks weaving their way through the traffic. The noise, the movement, the constant rush of life passing by.
I loved trying to capture them as they sped past, slowing the shutter and allowing the colours and shapes to stretch across the frame. Trails of light, overlapping figures, fragments of colour, all merging into something abstract.
There was something wonderfully unpredictable about it. Each passing tuk-tuk left behind its own impression, a fleeting mixture of colour, movement and energy.
For me, these photographs capture something of how Colombo feels. The chaos, the vibrancy, the people, the heat and the constant sense of movement. A city that seems to exist in several moments at once.
