Sebastian

I was riding a motorbike along the west coast of Sri Lanka when I stopped at a remote beach to watch the waves crash in. Out of nowhere, a lone figure appeared — barefoot, weathered, quiet.

He walked up to me, smiled, and in broken English said, “I have no mother and no father. My name is Sebastian.”

There was something haunting in his presence, wild hair, unshaven face, eyes full of solitude. I asked if I could take his portrait. He nodded.

He stood there, framed by the roaring sea, as if the chaos of nature mirrored whatever storm he was carrying inside. A man carved by elements: wind, salt, silence.

This is Sebastian.
