LANDSCAPES & places

Landscape photography, for me, is less about recording a location and more about capturing the feeling of being there. Whether standing alone in the California desert, watching the mist roll across the Norfolk Broads or wandering through the narrow streets of an unfamiliar city, I am drawn to places that evoke atmosphere, memory and emotion. I look beyond the obvious viewpoint, searching instead for light, texture and composition that reveal something more personal about a place.

My background as a cinematographer has had a profound influence on the way I photograph landscapes and environments. Rather than treating a scene as a static image, I approach it as though it were a frame from a larger story. I pay close attention to changing light, movement, weather and the subtle details that suggest what has happened before or what might happen next. The result is a collection of photographs that invite viewers to imagine the narrative beyond the frame.

Many of these photographs were created while travelling through more than ninety countries, often between film productions or documentary assignments. Some were made in vast open landscapes, others within cities where architecture, light and atmosphere combine to create a strong sense of place. Together they form a visual record of journeys spanning more than two decades, celebrating the diversity of the world's landscapes while exploring the emotions they inspire.
